Overview

How Old Is lists around 300 programming languages, frameworks and developer tools, from COBOL and Fortran to Deno and FastAPI. Each one shows its icon, its public release date and how old it is today, in years and months.

Type in the search box to find a technology. When a project's public release and official launch differ, the earlier date is used. The site is built with PHP and SQLite, uses the devicon library for icons, and is open source on GitHub, where anyone can add a missing technology.
